Existing problems
Due to the fact that a certain company's packaging machine used a powder grid wheel to control the feeding in the feeding bin, there was a certain gap between the impeller of the powder grid wheel and the shell, resulting in significant material leakage during packaging. The leakage material during the packaging of 42.5 cement is returned to the 32.5 cement warehouse through the ash return conveyor, which is used as a bulk cement for 32.5, resulting in significant waste. The second issue is that after a period of operation, the sealing on both sides of the impeller is prone to leakage, which affects the civilized and hygienic management on site.
Solution
Replacing the powder grid wheel with a cylinder type discharge valve completely solves the problem of material leakage.
Conclusion/Results/Benefits
After the renovation, the effect was good, eliminating material leakage and avoiding losses caused by material leakage during packaging of 42.5 cement, greatly improving the civilized and hygienic environment on site.
Production of 42.5 cement entirely using fluorogypsum
Existing problems
Due to the fact that both cement mills in a certain company are open-circuit mills and use purchased clinker, they are particularly sensitive to the moisture content of the incoming materials. Before May 2013, desulfurization gypsum balls (with a moisture content of about 7%) and desulfurization gypsum powder (with a moisture content of about 12%) were used, which had a significant impact on the production of the mills due to their high moisture content. In addition, after converting desulfurization gypsum balls and desulfurization gypsum powder into dry basis, their cost-effectiveness is not very high when calculated based on unit SO3.
Solution
After confirming through search and small grinding tests that there is no impact on the quality and performance of cement, fluorogypsum was selected as a substitute for some desulfurization gypsum for batching.
Starting from May, a 1:1 ratio of fluorogypsum and desulfurization gypsum will be used in 32.5 cement, and gradually increasing the proportion of fluorogypsum until all fluorogypsum ingredients are used in the production of 32.5 cement.
Later, when producing 42.5 cement, we began to mix and use fluorogypsum. As of November 2013, our company's production of 32.5 cement and 42.5 cement basically used fluorogypsum.
From the comparison of cement quality using fluorogypsum, there is basically no change in cement water demand, setting time, adaptability of admixtures, and early strength of cement. The main change is that after storing cement in the storage warehouse for a period of time, the 28 day strength of cement will decrease by about 1Mpa, which means that the 28 day strength of factory cement is about 1Mpa lower than the corresponding 28 day strength of ground cement. Therefore, it is recommended to use post strength grinding aids as much as possible after adding fluorogypsum.
